Why Get a Pedicure in the Winter?

Posted in: Nails, Skincare- Jan 05, 2012 No Comments

Do you go all Winter without a pedicure then come spring get a one for the first time in months, and tell your nail tech how bad your feet look? Women have long regarded pedicures as a spring and summer staple; but during the cold winter months, the nails can become dry and brittle leading to splitting, breaking and often pain or discomfort. Proper foot care is essential in every season, not only for beautifully shaped and painted toenails, but to maintain the overall health of your feet.

Here are a few reasons to maintain your pedicures during the winter months.

  1. A thorough pedicure consists of soaking the feet, removing dead skin by way of a scrapping tool, pushing back the cuticles of the toe, as well as a calf and foot massage. The result is softer, more attractive feet less likely to be plagued by infection and fungus.
  2. Exfoliating your feet helps control and prevents the growth of calluses and corns, which not only look unattractive, but also cause discomfort.
  3. Massaging your feet and lower legs loosens your muscles and helps with joint performance – often adversely affected in cold weather. The massage also helps with circulation of the foot and lower leg.

If the health and comfort of your feet aren’t enough to get you to your pedicurist, visualize you feet in this season’s winter shoe collection! This season’s shoes consist of peep toe shoes and booties, most of which are on sale right now. Take the money you save and get yourself a few great pedicures.

To further entice you, we’d like to offer you our winter pedicure package. Purchase 2 pedicures and regular price and receive the 3rd at half off. Perfect to get you through the rest of winter and into spring with beautiful healthy feet.

Bored of the same old make-up routine? The Holidays are the perfect time to glam it up. Experiment with colors and style and have some fun with it.

What to Emphasize
Your face has three areas to emphasize: eyes, cheeks and lips. In general, you want to play up one area, but keep the others soft or muted. For example, try strong smoky eyes with barely there lip and cheek colors or keep your eyes and cheeks soft and go with a nice bold lip color.

Just Remember Matchy-matchy is Tacky”
According to Allure magazine, “matchy- matchy is tacky”. If your wearing a sparkly dress, don’t wear sparkly eyeshadow. If you have a purple blouse on, skip the purple shadows and use neutrals or complimentary colors instead.
